Film Noir - research

All media texts are made with an audience in mind. generally, but not always, the producers make money out of that audience. therefore it is important to understand what happens when an audience 'meets' a media text.
audience research is a major part of any media companies work. they use, questionaires, focus groups and comparisons to existing movies and spend a great deal of time and money finding out if there is anyone out there who might be interested in their production.
I have so far analysed past noir films and have written what i would like to be in my film and what i would not. the three introductional films i have watched are:
- the endless night
- the foursquare film - a modern interpretation of noir film
- golden gloves
These have been shown in similar tasks and as well as the posters. i have also looked up the conventions of film noir and has given me a strong in sight on what i need to include to make it generic.
