lighting lesson

Spill - extra source of light
in a noir film we should use at least one light to create the effect that it is actually a noir film.
there are two types of lighting:
- natural
-artificial
they both create different effects

Would do they do?
creates shadows
silhouute
creates mood
puts a representation on character
dark? villain
light? hero, good side

equipment?
- scrim
- bulb
- barn doors
- stand
- plug
- surge protector
- clips
- gloves

three point lighting

it is a standard method used in visual media
there are three types of lights:
- key light
- fill light
- back light
they have to go in this order


do's and don't
1. always man the lights
2. don't use the lights outside
3. switch off when not used
4. light parrallel with leg
5. use gloves if you think the light head is hot
6. don't look at the light
7. lights at low level
8. never replace bulb
9. use surge protector
10. lights in risk assessment
